Billie Eilish has been titled as the 2021 Person of the Year, by PETA(People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).
Eilish is known for her work and also chosen for her work by PETA for pushing the fashion industry to recognize that cruelty is never in style, for developing leather-free footwear, and for getting designers like Oscar De La Renta to go fur-free.
Eilish is the youngest winner of the PETA’s person of the year award. She has been vegan since the age of 12, she said “I learned about the dairy industry, I just can’t go in my life knowing what’s going on in the animal world and not doing anything about it”.

Her first perfume composed no animal-derived ingredients.
Eilish released an Air Jordan shoe collection in collaboration with Nike, which was made of 100 percent vegan leather with over 20 percent recycled material. Brands like H&M are working towards this initiative, recently they launched their animal-friendly collection approved by PETA.
She agreed to associate with the brand wearing a custom silk-free gown to the Met Gala only if they agreed to ban fur, which it ultimately did. She agreed to partner with Met Ball on the ground that the brand would ban fur from its future products. The dress she was wearing for the Met Ball was a vegan, silk-free gown, and as the Met Gala’s co-chair, she decked exclusively vegan meals for the first time ever.
