We live in a culture where success and achievement are measured by mark sheets and or I must say cracking IIT /NEET. Indian parents love to regressive pressure on their never-ending expectations. Their expectations as well as demanding their children to excel and crack competitive exams are now leading a student in a different direction. Expecting your kid to achieve their dreams is what every parent wants but putting pressure on their mental health more than their mental capacity is something that is having a negative impact on the psychology of their children. Social media increases the opportunity for such harmful. It’s a very vulnerable population to have access to something where there is no stoppage before they post or press the send button. I think that’s something which everyone needs to be mindful about. We must understand that every life matters and help is just around the corner. In order to reduce the suicide rates it is important to highlight the importance of mental health in everyday lives. If you change the way we communicate us our peers, we can make one comfortable in sharing their thoughts and understanding their situation. Thus reducing the suicide rate in our country. Fear of missing out is the best reason behind depression and anxiety, people love to show off or show how amazing their life is on social media, and this makes you compare your life with theirs and feel sad about not enjoying life to the full extent. Today social media has become a dangerous place, a place where everything seems so perfect but behind the closed door you don’t know what is going on. It can also be used to connect with good people. People overthink which can lead to negative thinking and fills you up with grief. In a short period of time, you will find yourself attempting to end your life. If a student fails an exam, the stress or pressure mentally can cause emotional distress. That is why is being said to always confide in your friends and parents than isolate themselves with negative thoughts. A non-judgemental approach of a parent towards their kid can be quite beneficial in opening up regarding the thoughts. CDC made a Suicide Prevention Resource for Action, that aims in providing information on the best evidence available when it comes to suicide prevention. Any community and state can use such resources to tackle the problem of suicide among teens.
