Pride month that starts from June is celebrated worldwide, especially for Diversity and Inclusion and mainstreaming of LGBT community. Naaz Joshi, a Delhi based Transgender female makes India proud once again in this month as she wins the title of Empress Earth 2021-22. She has become India’s First international Trans Beauty Queen with seven International crowns, Naaz Joshi has been an achiever and dons varied hats. She has won many beauty pageant titles like MISS UNIVERSE DIVERSITY 2020, MS EMPRESS EARTH 2021, MISS WORLD DIVERSITY 2017-2020, MISS REPUBLIC INTERNATIONAL BEAUTY AMBASSADOR and MISS UNITED NATIONS AMBASSADOR
Naaz Joshi, not only a name, it’s becoming a brand by her beauty and winning after a long struggle in her life. Naaz Joshi is India’s first transgender international beauty queen, a trans rights activist, and a motivational speaker, and a supermodel from the trans community.
The contest which was to take place in Dubai on June 1st , 2021 was canceled due to a pandemic and on the advice of the contestants was held in virtual mode. In the online contest, more than 15 countries participated in Empress Earth 2021. The countries who entered the top five were Colombia, Spain, Brazil, Mexico and India.
The Contestants were given tasks along with an evening gown and National costume presentation at the digital meeting. The final question asked to the top five finalists was “Do you feel that lockdown is the solution to the pandemic ?”
Naaz Joshi replied ” No. Just lockdown can decrease the number of patients. It’s also a duty of every human being to take care of the safety measures as recommended by WHO and we queens should motivate others to stay calm and positive”.
Jury members included Likamatso Makutle from Lesotho who is the founder of Empress Earth, Mrs. Rita Gangwani from India, Adriga Biswas form Bangladesh, Dr. Thiagaraja from Sri Lanka, Gugu Cele from South Africa, Sir Williams from Nigeria and Mr. Prem Gada from India.
The signature crown of Empress Earth was designed by Pesha Creations worth 3,000 US$, the crown is inspired by Mother Earth and studded with Swarovski crystals.The 2nd runner-up crown was bagged by Ms. Olivia from Mexico, 1st Runner up went to Ms. Valentina from Colombia and the winner was Ms. Naaz Joshi from India.
She is beautiful with a mission and a well-known International Model. Her life is not limited to modelling but also works Trans rights in India, Gender Sensitization Program with universities, colleges, and schools. She is India’s first trans model, international TRANS beauty queen, trans cover model, International cover model from the trans community.
