Rajasthan: The first state in the country to get Pension for all 21 categories of disabled persons

The state’s social justice and empowerment department has played its role in providing all 21 categories of persons with disability pension benefits under the social security pension scheme.

Certain benefits for pensioners with disabilities include:

According to a new defence disability pension Yojna, for 100 % disability, 30% of previously estimated emoluments will be paid as disability element for the disability pension subject to a minimum of ₹3510.

Earlier, a pension was given every month to the person with a disability of eight categories.

And the 21 categories were identified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.

Though 21 categories is a long list, still this is the most avoided problem in India which needs to be put in front of people in the most valid ways, so that the actions are taken gradually.

21 division of disability includes acid attack victims, leprosy cured person, hearing impairment, cerebral palsy, low vision, chronic neurological condition, intellectual disability, multiple sclerosis, mental illness, haemophilia, thalassemia, Parkinson’s disease, specific learning disabilities, locomotor disability, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, blindness, speech, and language disability, autism spectrum disorder, sickle cell thalassemia, and various other disabilities.

An order was issued on October 12 by the secretary of social justice and empowerment department, Samit Sharma, amending the social security pension rules, 2013, providing benefits of the Pension Scheme.
