Ripped Jeans are sending a message to society and what is this message is best explained by Uttarakhand CM Tirath Singh Rawat in a recent visit to a workshop on Substance Abuse. At the workshop, he said that ripped jeans paves the way for a societal breakdown and is a result of the “bad example” parents set for children, which also leads to substance abuse.
The newly appointed chief minister said, “Kyanchi se sanskaar (culture by scissors) — showing bare knees, wearing ripped denim and looking like rich kids — these are the values being given now. Where is this coming from, if not at home? What is the fault of teachers or schools? Where am I taking my son, showing his knees and in tattered jeans? Girls are no less, showing their knees. Is this good? While the western world follows us doing yoga…. covering their body properly. And we run towards nudity,” according to a Times of India report.
Furthermore, commenting on the sartorial choices of young mothers, he has reportedly said that he was shocked to meet a woman who ran an NGO wearing ripped jeans. “If this kind of woman goes out in society to meet people and solve their problems, what kind of message are we giving out to society, to our kids? It all starts at home. What we do, our kids follow,’’
“A child who is taught the right culture at home, no matter how modern he becomes, will never fail in life,” he added.
On the same tunes of the chief minister, the newly appointed cabinet minister had Ganesh Joshi, had earlier had said, “Women talk about all things they want to do in life, but the most important thing for them is to look after their family and kids.”
The questions which arise here is whether the chief minister thinks that our values are so diminutive that showing knees will thwart them? However, the young brigade reverting back to the CM’s remark on social media by uploading photos showing their knees.
Netizen flooded social media with photos in shorts, ripped jeans with the #GreetingsFromMyNakedKnees. They seem to tell the ministers that their clothes don’t define their values and tried to give him a message.
“Watch your thoughts, not my clothes,” “ Mere knees ab mere sanskaar batayenge,” “My naked knee is saying hello to this insecure world,” and many more.
The people on social media are reverting to the CM query of “What Message Are they Sending To Society?”
Message is that women can and should wear what they want. Simple. Don’t stress over it….#rippedjeans are cool….summers mein shorts be chalega…😊 deal with it 😎 pic.twitter.com/GpVwIm8nmA

More than the ripped jeans of women, BJP leaders should be concerned about ripped economy of India.

Never been a fan of ripped jeans. But a sitting Chief Minister has no business sitting in judgement of those who wear it. And no, a pair of ripped jeans has no impact on anything in society. A torn soul does.

As we are moving ahead to become a manufacturing hub, and our honourable Prime Minister has launched #AtamnirbharBharat, so the Chief Minister should take the initiative of launching ‘sanskari’ ripped jeans or clothing which will send the ‘correct message’ to the society.
