This really got me intrigued, do tarot cards actually helpful in guidance or is it just a game of cards. Here in Lucknow, I got in touch with a company that provides services like astrology, face reading, tarot card reading and many services all under one roof.
SAUNTESTHYAM (The Indian Astrology) was started by Shubham Srivastava and Siddharth Bhadauria. On being asked the reason behind this venture Shubham says- “We are one of those who got the idea in lockdown as everything was shut, people were struggling mentally, financially and looking for answers through kundli, plan reading etc. I saw a good opportunity to offer all such services under one roof so that people can have as many options as possible.”

Tell us about yourself. How do you get into tarot reading?
My name is Riya Singh. I am basically from Delhi. I did my Graduation in B.A in psychology from Delhi University. Apart from that, I have done certification and diploma in Spanish from Delhi University.
I was always curious about the tarot cards, as I thought they work best when it comes to guidance and love life reading. Plus, it helped when I was going through a really tough time in my life. During the lockdown, everything was on halt, which gave me an ample amount of time to explore this arena. As I dived more into this arena I realised everyone is looking for some guidance and I can help them through tarot in giving the right direction. Additionally, my degree in psychology helps a lot in reading human behaviour more accurately.
What is tarot? How tarot card actually works.
Tarot is a divine tool. It has 78 cards which are divided into 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana cards. It reads the person’s energies and shows us how he/she feels and what should be their next move in order to get the right direction.
To say that Tarot cards worked on individual energies and intuition is quite accurate. It also depends on the reader on how well he/she can the cards.
What makes a person eligible for a tarot reading, in this line you will experience a lot of fraudulent activities.
Intuition and your accuracy in reading the cards or combination of cards. I always meditate before the reading to get connected with the clients as well as my tarot cards.
Of course, there are many fraudulent activities that go down in this profession mostly because the people fake it as being a medium or psychic giving clients wrong direction or anything based on the current scenario just to get more money from them.
How can you read their energies, when your clients are miles away.
Honestly, it doesn’t matter before the reading then I put the client’s name on top of my cards along with a crystal so that the cards and myself can align with their energies. Also, I start by having 5 minutes of meditation. I clear my mind from any thoughts and stress from my mind, then I blow out the candle and meditate with my cards, and then I start shuffling my cards and connect by saying the person’s name and question.
Have ever taken negative energy while reading, if yes how did you tackle it.
Yes, a lot of times I feel so drained out after the reading. Meditation, relaxation by indulging in activities like exercise, and jogging really help me out in draining all the negative energy out of my body.
People need to understand tarot card reading is all about aligning with the client’s energies only then you can understand what is going on in their life. Sometimes the energies are quite negative and exhausted which tend to overlap with ours. It’s a drawback but I learned a few ways to tackle it smartly.
You mentioned white magic, that really got my attention. Please elaborate on that.
Before we get into this let me make this clear that white magic is selfless magic and must never be related to black magic.
White magic is right-hand-path magic that uses the concepts of mind, body and spirit into three separate, albeit interrelated, entities. It is a positive way to adhere to a specific moral code and a belief in some form of judgement, such as karma or the Threefold Law.
Yes, you can say tarot is white magic because it’s used to help people and black magic is for harming someone which tarot does not do.
What is your strength as a tarot card reading expert?
I believe my strength is the ability to understand someone’s emotions. As I am already studying human behaviour in psychology it is much easier for me to handle one’s emotions and understand their perspective.
I feel it is my duty to guide whoever comes to me for reading, I want to help people from their pain and confusion. World is already full of selfish people, and it feels great to be someone to whom people come for guidance.
There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to tarot cards like it is just a game of cards nothing reliable comes out of it. What do you have to say to that?
Yes, it is a misconception about Tarot cards but as time is changing the misconception towards tarot is also declining and people start believing in tarot more than other divination tools.
Is there any procedure you have to follow before doing the readings?
Yes, you first have to energise your cards. Then, start your reading.
