As Covid cases rise up in Lucknow, face mask becomes mandatory

Around 93 people have tested positive for Covid-19 as per reports. Whereas 197 patients have also been recovered from covid decreasing the number of cases in the city by 1,275.

Also, in the existing active cases, 19 patients have influenza-like symptoms. The fresh cases took the third wave tally to 57,213. However, most of the patients have recovered through home quarantine. Additionally. this time hospitalisation rate was around 5-7%. The death toll in this wave is 37. 

Chief medical officer Dr Manoj Agrawal said, “All those who tested positive are recovering in home isolation and our team is keeping a close eye on the patients.”

Meanwhile, at least 4,901 people have been vaccinated against coronavirus on Sunday.

With the rising cases in the country, the Uttar Pradesh government on Monday announced a mandatory face mask in public places in the capital Lucknow along with 6 NCR districts. An official said. The increase in Covid cases has had an impact on the districts falling under the national capital region (NCR). Keeping this in mind, the government has made use of masks mandatory in public places in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat as well as capital Lucknow, an official spokesperson stated.
