CAIT says, “Diwali festival sales break the 10-year record at Rs 1.25 lakh crore”

Due to Covid 19 pandemic, Diwali celebrations were slightly on a halt but this year people cramped the markets for festival purchases this year, generating sales of more than Rs 1.25 lakh crore, breaking the record of the last 10 years, according to the country’s trader’s body Confederation of All Indian Traders(CAIT).

The trader’s body said that the incredible Diwali 2021 sale ended the economic slowdown that had remained for the last two years. The figures have come out as a major boost to businesses.

CAIT said, “Encouraged by the unprecedented Diwali business, traders are now bracing themselves for the wedding season that is set to start on November 14″.

“In this year’s Diwali festival, there is an estimated business of about Rs 1.25 lakh crore rupees in the entire country which is a record figure ever attained in the last decade. In Delhi alone, this business was about Rs 25,000 crore”, CAIT National President BC Bhartia and Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal added.
