H & M’s proudly launches ‘Co-Exist Story’ which is an animal-friendly collection approved by PETA. It is a launch of early 2021’s third portion in H&M’s Innovation Stories Initiative which aims to showcase added sustainable innovations, materials, and design. The first themed collection ‘Science Story’ approved cutting-edge sustainable materials and the second ‘Color Story’ prioritised extra sustainable methods of working with colour.
The H&M’s collection features menswear, womenswear, and kidswear. Co-Exist story epitomizes our ongoing engagement in exploring innovative alternatives to animal-derived materials while still offering our customers leading-edge fashion.
Also includes innovation such as FLWRDWN which is an alternative to animal down made using wildflowers and a plant-based substitute for oil-based and animal-derived leather, VEGEA.
“Forming positive relationships with companies such as H&M as we strive to end the use of animal-derived materials. . We’re thrilled to partner with H&M on a collection that features fabulous vegan designs that are kinder to the planet and to the animals who live on it”, PETA corporate responsibility manager Laura Shields stated.
For the kid’s collection, there are FLWRDWN puffer jackets in exuberant hues, recycled nylon anoraks, T-shirts, and loungewear with slogan patches that affirm allegiance to the animal kingdom and support for PETA’s work.
The main pieces include one shoulder knitted dress with a dramatic fringed hem in an Econyl blend and vegan leather trousers with a matching blazer vest for women, an oversized cream-coloured faux four coat in recycled polyester.

The highlights of the accessories include heavy-duty rubber fisherman’s boots in Yulex natural rubber, sunglasses in recycled plastic, FLWRDWN puffer shoes, and animal print bags that are 100 per cent recycled polyamide with FLWRDWN.
The collection also includes H&M’s first makeup pieces certified by The Vegan Society, a three-colour eyeliner pack, and two lipsticks- a first for the Swedish retailer.
