Mankameshwar temple set to promote going green

The infamous Mankameshwar temple will be going environment-friendly with all its activities. They are now encouraging devotees to remove the use of polybags and other plastic-related items. Also limiting the usage of air conditioners at the temple premises during the month of Shravan.

During this season Hindu idols will be decorated with flowers, fruits and vegetables. The leftovers from decoration along with used decoration will then be given to cows after they are cleaned properly. 

The message is loud and clear. All devotees must consider it in order to promote a good friendly environment in the temple.  

The head priest of Mankameshwar temple, Mahant Divya Giri, said: “The temple premises will be decorated with fresh leaves and flowers in order to bring the need to plant trees to the notice of the people. We will make them aware of how excessive use of AC and deforestation is leading to global warming.”

In Shivalaya temple a Rudrabhishek on the replicas of 12 Jyotirlingas will be performed with Gangajal from Bithoor will be bought. As per sources Rudrabhishek will be performed in Buddheshwar Mahadev Temple on a daily basis.
