Never Have I Ever thought that It was an achievement

It is interesting to keep a list of your achievements and failures. This is what I am learning to do myself. Things I count as my achievements, things I count as my failures. It is interesting that people have a To-do list, but that usually comprises some extraordinary feat. The adventures that we will do someday in our life. That someday is too far away.

Recently, my best friend went on a spontaneous trip to Mussoorie and Rishikesh. Needless to say, I was jealous. So, yaa, randomly he drops a message in a group with one of my other friends which said “Guys I love you both, I am proud of you. (kiss emoji), my instant response was “kya hua brooo.” Basically, he was going for river rafting and the tides were higher than normal. He wanted to express his last feeling, in case he dies while rafting. Awwwww, right? Well, yes.

Yesterday, he came back to Delhi and uploaded his rafting videos with the caption “One more thing off my list, another video “Never felt more alive”. Again, I am jealous and today I thought I will utilise my inner fumes in lighting the path for others (smirking while writing). How am I planning to do that? Well, scroll man.

Honestly, keeping aside my ego I have also done a lot of things that are on my mental ‘to-do’ list. Like things I want to do, things that I think are cool. Now again how you define “cool” is very subjective. Well, we are not getting in there right now. That’s not the point of this article. This article is about what makes you feel ‘alive.’ What isn’t on your list but is really cool, according to the universal definition of ‘cool.’ Small little things that happened so randomly that it skipped to make it to your list. But now my friend is the time to take cognizance of that little cute activity you did but forgot to show off. (smirking again)

Here you go:

Tree Camping

I haven’t done that myself honestly, but it sounds so cool (universally accepted definition) to me. I have instantly put it on my mental ‘To-do’ list. It is a very simple, exciting and intimate adventure, according to me. You can have your own interpretation. But I know you wouldn’t want to do this much about it, so I have done the research for you and trust me it can be one hell of an experience.

It is the newest and most exciting way to camp out in the woods and live in the wilds. Once you have explored these dimensions of camping you will never go back to old-style camping — ever.

Probably the most inexpensive adventure feat. All you need are some big, stable trees and you’re good to go. Plus, you can choose how far up from the ground you want to hang your camp.

Vow of silence for a week

Now, this is something so exciting and so off my limit. I am such a talkative person that it would be a Grade A adventurous and equal challenge for my soul. But honestly, just reading about it was so therapeutic. It opens the door of spirituality to you. I think we cannot understand it and would laugh it off because it sounds strange but my friend it is a big achievement. In a world of so many noises, silence can be your opinion. ( oh my god, that’s deep). It is a good way to detox your soul from the many unnecessary, unwanted things of the chaotic world.

Donate hair for cancer

Many of you would have done that, many would have this thought looming something in the back of your mind. Whichever is the case, you are giving hope to the world my friend. In a battle with probably one the scariest disease, hope is a beautiful thing.

If you are donating your hair to NGOs or organizations that can turn your long locks into free or low-cost wigs for people with cancer. That is a big achievement. A wig can give self-confidence, strength, and hope to someone struggling with emotional challenges.

Camp at Haunted Sites

I would never do that. But it is so crazy that it has to be included in this list. Why would anybody want to camp at a haunted site? I would never understand. Kudos to whosoever is doing this. Please write to us about how your experience was. I would definitely be interested in reading it. Hands down it is an achievement. I don’t know whether it is cool or not. I leave it to the reader’s discretion.

Isolation Tank

This is so intriguing that you might want to read about it before jumping the guns. So, I will briefly dwell upon the nerve-racking concept of adventure.

A sensory deprivation tank also called a float tank or isolation tank is a distraction-free environment that helps you experience a completely relaxed float therapy. It soothes your mind and body and helps your body to relax in a zero-gravity environment. Your mind enters a meditative state where you can dissolve your stress, anxiety, panic, depression and reconnect with yourself.

With the elimination of external stimuli, the central nervous system’s workload is reduced by as much as 90%. This reduction draws a person’s energy inward and promotes relaxation–also known as the parasympathetic response.

Cave diving

If you like to escape from the crowds and explore places not many people have seen, cave diving is the adventure for you. The meaning of cave diving is diving with an overhead environment and no direct vertical access to the surface, open-air, or light. This can be daunting for some, but for the thrill-seekers, cave diving is a unique and beautiful experience.

There is nothing that attracts photographers to diving more than capturing stunning underwater images. Freshwater cave diving allows photographers to capture images as crisp and clear as if they were taken above the surface. Freshwater caves offer crystal clear visibility and are popular with divers wanting to capture stunning photographs. Read on to discover our list of the world’s best cave diving sites – we have some incredible freshwater cave diving locations to recommend!

Slacklining

Slacklining is a sport and art that can be a balance training, recreation, and moving meditation. It is similar, at first glance, to tightrope walking, and is accomplished by stretching and tensioning a 1”– 2” wide length of nylon/polyester webbing between two anchor points, most often trees.  The origin is attributed to the rock climbing community in Yosemite National Park.  It is a leisure time activity while maintaining concentration, fitness, core strength and balance skills.

Karaoke

It is the most fun activity and easily available. People often go out with friends and sing along to recorded music using a microphone. The music is an instrumental version of a well-known popular song. Lyrics are usually displayed on a video screen, along with a moving symbol, changing colour, or music video images, to guide the singer.

Stargazing

Often ignored, but I think today it should be considered as an achievement. Where do you find the starry sky today? All covered in smog and pollution. There are few places now untouched by technology, in the lap of nature that offers you a starry sky. If you are at such a place, then you are lucky, enjoy the view and add it to your achievement list.

Deliver a Public Speech

I have this achievement on my list. I delivered it in my college election. If people have spared time and gathered to listen to your words, then it is an achievement.

Throw a mega party to complete strangers

Be the Jay Gatsby of The Great Gatsby. Throw parties for strangers, invite strangers to your place. It sounds such a headache to me honestly, but it can be an achievement for many.  It is an interesting way to get introduced to the local culture.

Work on a vineyard

There are several stages of work involved before a finished bottle of wine reaches you. Throughout the entire year, a wine-grower has various tasks to tend to, such as training and pruning the vines, soil care, foliage treatment and thinning, as well as harvesting the grapes as selectively as possible. Work in a vineyard, if you are a wine connoisseur and understand the process behind a bottle of fine wine.
