Reyansh Surani makes it to the Guinness World Record

Reyansh Surani created the Guinness World Record by becoming the youngest certified Yoga Instructor in the world.

Surani hails from Dubai, he has set the new record at the age of 9 years 220 days.

He received this certification from the Anand Shekhar Yoga School, after completing their 200-hour Yoga Teacher’s Training Course.

He reveals that he started practicing yoga with his parents when he was just four years old. He started practising yoga when his parents were attending a yoga teacher’s training course in Rishikesh, India. That’s when he joined them and surprisingly found out that he enjoys teaching as well.

He shifted from Dubai to Rishikesh with his parents where he had no internet access, had to live without other luxuries such as air conditioning. Still, he adapted to his new surroundings very quickly and embraced the humble lifestyle.

“I felt very close to nature. The stay was exciting and adventurous because we went tracking every now and then. It was a fun way to relax from the intense yoga training schedule”

Reyansh learned many aspects of yoga during the course such as ‘allignment, anatomic philosophy, and the nutritional facts of Ayurveda’.

“Earlier, I used to think yoga is only about physical posture and breathing, but it’s much more than that”
