Somebody has rightly said, “Old is gold.” It stands absolutely relevant when we talk about cars. Cars are considered to be an expensive possession of an individual, not only do you invest your money in them but also ensure it reflects your exquisite taste and style. As much as the people await the latest car models, it is profoundly known that there is a section of people who have impeccable liking towards the royalty of antiquity. Their love for vintage is such that, there are rallies of vintage vehicles to exhibit the beauty of the timeless classics. The older the version the rarer it becomes. Recently one such Vintage Car Rally was organised in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh which showcased the antique motors of Oudh Heritage Car Club and all its members. The vintage car lovers joined the car pageant to witness the magnificent view of antique cars marking their presence in the world of the ‘latests’. The visitors were mesmerised by the spectacle of fifty to sixty motors older than them, with big headlights, fast rubber guards, and loud rubber horns. This year’s Vintage Car Rally was organised by the Youth Indians Wing of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) flagged off from the 1090 Women Power Line by the Commissioner Of Police, Mr. D.K. Thakur. The Chief Guest for the event was Transport Commissioner Mr. Dheeraj Sahu. The Rally was followed by a session on Road Safety, Accessibility and Climate Change. An initiative by Mr. Aviral Jain, Chair, Yi Lucknow asserted that the objective of the rally was to promote the message of road safety, accessibility and climate change. He said that through the platform of Yi, efforts were made to encourage people to follow the traffic rules and adopt sustainability practices for the protection of the environment. Mr. Somjeet Singh, Captain of the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team, also spoke at the occasion to raise awareness about the need for an inclusive society and how the goal can be achieved. He also talked about the changes needed in the infrastructure to support accessibility. The accessible government building and other infrastructure with ramps will help the disabled community’s rehabilitation to the mainstream society. Noted Dignitaries at the Vintage Car Rally, Lucknow The rally with a mission to aware people about the environment, accessibility and road safety was one heck of any event. The event was attended by the President of Oudh Heritage Car Club, Captain Paritosh Chauhan, & Vice-President MA Khan graced the occasion with other noted dignitaries.
