According to the records of the Ministry of Defence, there are a total of 448 disabled cadets in the country since 1985. For the first time in the country, a disabled cadet, Yogesh Yadav has been inducted into the airforce. Flying Officer, Yogesh Yadav was paralyzed in the lower back due to injury during the military before joining the Air Force. Air Force has considered this as a special case and made Yogesh Yadav its officer. It is rightly said that a single step in the right direction can turn out to be the biggest step in the process. In the passing out parade held at the Air Force Academy in Dundigal(Hyderabad) on Friday, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal VR Choudhary himself inducted him as a flying officer in the Air Force at the Peeping Ceremony. And also till now if a cadet became disabled during training in NDA, IMA Air Force Academy, then he was fired along with the allowance. In the month of July, a publication house started a campaign, showing the plight of these disabled cadets. The matter was highlighted in the parliament. Even CDS General Bipin Rawat, whom we lost in a tragic incident, himself had vowed to get justice for these disabled cadets.
