Lucknow Super Giants have signed Andrew Tye to replace injured England pacer Mark Wood ahead of their maiden IPL campaign which starts on March 26. Lucknow Super Giants have secured the services of Tye at his base price of ₹1 crore.
“Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have signed Andrew Tye as a replacement for the injured England pacer Mark Wood for the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Wood suffered an elbow injury during England’s first Test against West Indies earlier this month,” it was announced by the IPL in an official statement.

Earlier LSG won the bidding battle with Mumbai Indians to sign Mark Wood for ₹7 crores, more than 3 times his base price of ₹2 crores.
In the 2018 season, Tye was the Purple Cap winner for most of the wickets. He picked up 24 wickets for Punjab Kings in 14 matches.

The fast bowler has so far played 27 IPL matches and has picked 40 wickets.

Along with Tye, Lucknow Super Giants have pacers like Avesh Khan, Dushmantha Chameera, and Ankit Rajpoot.
Lucknow Super Giants will be Andrew’s 5th IPL Franchise.
LSG will be led by KL Rahul in IPL 2022. They will begin their IPL 2022 campaign on March 28 when they take on Gujrat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
