As the vaccination drive is in full swing in Uttar Pradesh, the prestigious Lucknow University will soon start a vaccination drive for its students, employees along with their families on the Vishwa Vidyalaya campus itself, for which camps will be set up.
According to a media report, Lucknow University’s Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said that the University administration will run the vaccination drive in association with the state government.

Prof. Amrita Kanojia, Prof M. Khanna and Prof. Monisha Banerjee are in charge of the soon to begin vaccination drive.
Prof. Rai has appealed to the departments to encourage students for the vaccination. He said that important data is being collected for the vaccination drive. For which two online google documents are being circulated. He urges the college administrations to forward the documents to the students and encourage them to fill and get vaccinated. The data will help to manage the crowd at the vaccination camps as slots will be allocated to them, the report said.
For the collection of the data, Prof Kanojia says that the pre-vaccination data is being collected from the students, employees to gather information prerequisite for vaccination. It includes information about how many people have already taken the jab, and how many have to get their second dose of vaccine.
The data will help them to include the second dose receivers in the vaccination drive as well.
Anshul Bhartiya, President, Adamya, Street Theatre Society, Lucknow University says “ It is a good initiative by Lucknow University because there’s a haphazard situation in most of the private and government hospitals. Hospitals are overcrowded but the University is trying to get 18+covered in their vaccination camp, so it’s a great initiative by our patron, Vice-Chancellor Alok Kumar Rai.
Furthermore, all the protocols will be followed during the drive and through the registration process. A vaccination camp will also be set up in the new campus for one day.
