Punjab Kings on Tuesday revealed their jersey for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Punjab Kings has gone for a complete revamp and will now be seen donning a red jersey with golden stripes, while the crest of a lion will also be sported below the primary sponsor logos. The team opted for a different, unique design for this new-look team. Furthermore, they are most likely to join the golden- helmet tribe alongside Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore who have sported golden helmets over the last few years.
Not just jersey revamp, the franchise has also gone for a name change this IPL season. The former Kings XI Punjab are the latest Indian Premier League franchise to go for a name change. They are set to be called Punjab Kings in IPL 2021.
The IPL 2021 edition would begin on April 9 with defending champions Mumbai Indians locking horns against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the tournament opener.
Punjab Kings went in with the biggest bid for the IPL 2021 auction and released several of their big names, including Glenn Maxwell. Priety Zinta co-owned franchise spent big at the IPL auction, bringing in overseas stars like Jhye Richardson, Dawid Malan, Riley Meredith and Moises Henriques. Punjab Kings also signed up Tamil Nadu big-hitter Shah Rukh Khan, seasoned all-rounder Jalaj Saxena among others.
