Karwa Chauth

Karwa Chauth is just around the corner, it is a felicitous occasion where the women keep the fast for the entire day which is also a kind of intermittent fasting, whereas in certain subgroups there are rituals like Sargi, baya, group pooja songs. Sargi is the meal that is had before dawn and ahead of the fast.

Today, we are going to talk about some Oil-Free Indian Recipes that will be dietary positive and that will not affect your health after a complete day of fasting.

Rajma

Oil-free Rajma: Rajma-chawal is loved by a million food lovers. Wherever you go and grab this dish but nothing can beat “mummy ke haath ka rajma chawal“. It is one of the most appetizing dishes. This time also make your rajma in your traditional way but widout adding oil and any spices, just in the end when the rajma is ready, make a spice mix powder of chickpeas flour, red chilli powder, coriander powder, dry mango powder, cumin powder, garam masala, dried fenugreek leaves and serve it with fresh coriander. I bet you, you are going to love it.

Chole

Oil-Free Chole: I am sure just like me, your temptation of chole bhature must be never-ending. The burst of its flavour is never-ending. This has been passed through generations.

For making oil-free Cholas firstly when you fry onions or tomatoes in oil, replace that with adding a pinch of salt and later water. And homemade Chola masala whose taste is going to blow your mind. Start with dry roasting Kashmiri red chilli, bay leaves, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks, fennel seeds, Black Peppercorns, Cloves, green cardamom, black cardamom until spices let out their aroma. Add all this into a jar with some anardana powder, fenugreek leaves, and grind well. Add the masala in the end when your Chola is ready and stir well. Enjoy the never-ending taste.

Pakora

Oil-Free Pakora: Pakoras are counted in some of the relished snacks at home or at a “chai ki tapri“. A chutney made of soaked red chillies, garlic, black salt, cumin powder, salt is a cherry on the cake with your oil-free pakoras. And instead of frying it, place the mixture on the hot pan and flatten it out. Cover and cook on low flame until golden brown on both sides.

Serve it with the chutney that you made. Enjoy Eating!

Oil-free Poha Cutlet: Poha is an ingredient that can be used in many ways. Generally, people use it in breakfast but making cutlets with it, is a peculiar way of using poha. Mix soaked poha with mashed potatoes and add the spices of your choices. Place the batter on the pan with a low flame and cook until brown on both sides. Serve it with sauce.
