In the official statement made by the Ministry of Housing Affairs on January 6, Kanpur has been ranked among the Top-10 Smart Cities of India, for the month of December. Kanpur or Lucknow has bagged the 8th position in the country that sits 3rd in the state, making the ambiance of Uttar Pradesh jovial.
Reportedly in just one month, Kanpur has made a significant amount of progress as the city used to stand at 13th position in November. The city is now looking to make another quantum leap in the coming month with a host of newly launched projects under review.
As per officials, the number of steps undertaken by the authority in order to be in Smart City Mission is the reason why Lucknow has achieved this pride. With the establishment of an Integrated Traffic Management System, Smart City Office, Command Control Centre, Health ATM, and much more, Lucknow has truly turned itself into a Smart City. Plus, the authority is also building smart roads and renewing the sewer system of Lucknow.
After keeping the tabs on the progress, the authorized department has awarded Lucknow with the eighth position in the Smart City Ranking this time. Apart from Lucknow, two other cities from Uttar Pradesh have been made to the list of the top 10 Smart Cities in India too. While Varanasi secured the third position this month, Agra secured fourth place in Smart City Ranking in India.
