Lucknow Traffic Police has inaugurated a new campaign in order to avoid major landlocked at key intersections in the whole city.
Under this campaign, a yellow strip will be made 50 meters ahead of the chaurahas to assign a pick-up and drop point for all vehicles of public transport.
These steps will help in stopping e-rickshaws, autos, buses to stop at the main intersection for the same, enabling smooth flow of vehicles. This will automatically clear traffic and make the place jam-free.
The intersection points in Lucknow face hefty traffic due to the loading and unloading of passengers on the main road anywhere and everywhere. This frequently leads to long land locks. Several yellow-band ‘drop and pick-up’ will be made all over the city to prevent traffic.

A yellow colored painted strip will be made to designate these spots, somewhere around 50 meters from the intersection. All the public transport vehicles will have a pick and drop passengers will pick and drop passengers at this point.
And violation of this campaign will result in an instant e-challan.
“This campaign is being started from the Chinhat intersection in Lucknow. It will be then scaled to include Awadh intersection, Polytechnic intersection, Sarojini Nagar Scooter India Chauraha, Atal Chowk at Hazratganj, key areas of Aminabad, and other locales soon”
DCP(Traffic)Subhash Chandra Shakya
The yellow band areas around the intersection will also enclose a vendor-free zone in which no shopkeepers or handcarts will be permitted to set up their cart within a 50-meter radius of the main chauraha. The LMC will keep a track of each and every activity.
